Binkles
Is there really all that much point in using this in Christhurch? It's main use by the looks of it is to remove chlorine from the water - and Christchurch doesn't add chlorine? Any takers on this?
Caryl
If you don't have chlorine in your tap water (and Blenheim doesn't either) then there is no point in adding chlorine remover. I add absolutely nothing to my tank, apart from water (and not counting fish food ).
Binkles
Does that include not using cycle as well? Would save lots of money if I don't use them - remember this is also a new tank, so I want to get some kind of cycle going (still waiting for the cloudy water to clear before testing) fairly soon. As an aside - Finding Nemo comes out tomorrow
Chris.L
Yes, I'm going to buy it from the Warehouse and you get Monsters Inc free. You still have to cycle you're tank. You need all the bacteria etc. Guppies are good because they produce more guppies (or any livebearer).
Binkles
So guppies are a good cycling fishie. I just don't want to have sacraficial fishies, so not sure whether I should use them.
Caryl
We're doing that too Chris  I have never used products like Cycle, don't see the point in spending money on unnecessary products.

Farmers have it but you have to buy Monsters Inc for $9.95 :-?
Interfecus
If you don't want to use fish to cycle, you can use pure ammonia in TINY quantites. I saw an article on it once on petfish.net. I'll post a link after dinner.
