Dixon1990
Hi is it normal for tiger barbs stripes to fade at lights out?THanks
Alan
Yes. Same as the neons will drop their colours and others will develop spots or stripes themselves. It's called, sleep mode.

shadowfax
what about as they get bigger, do they fade? noticed some older one's in the lfs & their colour was not as good as the young ones.
Caryl
Yes they do tend to fade as they get old. They will also look pale in a lfs if they are stressed, which is often the case.

HummingBird
Angels and Cardinals do it too, when I first started keeping fish and saw it happen I freaked out and did a 25% water change right away. The next day they were fine, and the next evening I had a look at them and realised it was normal.
