herefishiefishie
I have been meaning to add something new to my white calvus for a little while now. At Brads the other day & I saw some nice Cyprichromis leptosoma "Mpulunga". That will do, grabbed 12 today. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/c_leptosoma.php http://www.volny.cz/aq_pro/images/jpg/jpg3/Cyprichromis_leptosoma_Mpulungu.jpg http://www.destin-tanganyika.net/images/cyprichromis-leptosoma-2.jpg They are in with assorted fry at the moment. Let them settle etc before adding to the whites. Above is what they will look like when bigger. Still only youngens at the moment. herefishiefishie
Mine still look like dullish sardines  Couple of males have a little colour. Will add photos in a couple of weeks when added to the Whites & have settled. Hopefully someone breeds them over there. Nice fish for the tangy collection. Alan
Why weren't they available when I was over there?? Grrrr
herefishiefishie
They were Alan. Just not that common a fish here. Most people are into Malawis or the really exotic. Leptos should be more popular here. I bought these off Brad, via a breeder cheaper than if I went direct to a wholesaler. Brad sells these to general public for cheaper than wholesale, they are just not that popular. Fish keepers here are boring, or just very tight fisted. I have had the Malasa variant before, about 5 years ago, moved them on when I went more Malawi. Just I never really wanted to upset the white calvus. Now they are well established size wise, they breed with yo yo's in there no dramas & I have other alto's breeding in the 4x2x2 with mixed mbunas{yellows, aceis & demasoni} so I 4x15x18 with a trio of Whites & colony of lepto's should be sweet. {touch wood lol} Frenchy
