Ruthie
Hi I am really really new to the guppy breeding scene - can anyone tell me, I have about 10 guppies in my tank at the moment is it better to get rid of all the crappy little ugly coloured ones and consentrate on my good breeding stock or is it worth hanging on to them? caserole
It's really up to you Ruth. But probably. When I breed my guppies I keep all my breeding stock ( different colour ) seperate. This stops males of the wrong colour or quality from breed with the females. I also separate the fry as soon as I can sex them easily( 3 weeks old ) in to tanks for males and females that way I can select only the best fish for breeding rather then letting them do as they please which would degrade the traits I may be looking for. It really depend on how involved you wont to go and how many tanks your allowed/can afford.
