Keri Anne
I have a snail issue in my WCMM breeding tank and was wondering what cold water snail eater ppl know of. I use clown loaches in my tropical tanks but think it'd be a bit cool in there for them. (Not to mention they'd be just as likely to eat the WCMM eggs as the snails are.) hogyn
Are you trying to eradicate the snails? Sleeping with the Fishies
hogyn
I know that it's probably old hat to you, but I get rid of smaller snails by crushing them against the glass. Hand picking often doesn't work as there will always be some that I miss, and it often disgusts me! So, I place lettuce at the top of my infested tank overnight and remove them in the morning. I haven't found a coldwater fish that eats snails. To be honest, I've not searched for one. This method always works for me. Keri Anne
It gets some of them but I'm still loosing heaps of WCMM eggs to snails. For an example I was only able to save 6 fish out of the last spawning!!!
davidb
oh is it the snails fault? I thougt it was the adult wcmm eating the fry???
Keri Anne
I think it's both but I've caught snails in the act.
