Drilled Tank sump ,fittings, closing holes ?????

Recommended Posts

I have a 6 ft x 2ft x 2ft freshwater tank with holes Drilled for plumbing for a sump about 3 inches from the top left and right corners

a few questions

Is there a way of closing the holes so i can fill tank to the top?

is there any fittings i could use so when i am ready to fit my sump i could use them .like plugs of some sort that can come in and out

i was thinking of sealing them off with a few glass squares and silicone

but i feel that would look a bit shite :-?

any ideas would be appreciated

cheers guys

Glass and silicone placed on the inside of the tank would be your cheapest solution, but not very sightly. Your local plumbing supply or hardware shop will have Hansen fittings, and you can get caps to seal these up. Why not use the holes for the original purpose? You can even connect your external canister filter to them, if you want. As for the water level, not much you can do about that unless you stop up the holes.

Best of luck!
