Batz
Hi to you all, I need some advice on MH lights please. I am setting a new tank up which will be a planted tank. It is 900x385x390 I just got given a 400w MH light. It has a huge shade and is a MH conversion light hanging on chains from the ceiling, the sort used for plant growing. I know that 400w is very high for the tank and never having had any experience with this sort of lights I am not too sure if it would do more harm than good. Any advice is much appreciated Thank you
dogmatix
Lol just re read the post, for a tank that size youd be better off with 2*150 watt hallides, or four fluros. You could try it but have it about 40cm above the water.
reef
If it is has a really big reflector then it shoud be ok, as bigger reflectors most likly put out less light over a larger area. do you have a pic?
Batz
hi dogmatix, thank you for that, but I got the 400 w light already and would have to buy any other lights that is why I asked reef the shade is huge, 900 l and arround 600 wide, what do you think http://s178.photobucket.com/albums/w241/batz_2007/th_lampshade.jpg
