1familiarfish
Thankyou for your reply , Im not sure but here goes... the filter is a waterfall type that hangs off the back of the tank, suitable for our small community tank of 32litres. It has a very small filter thingie that fits inside and it has a spongy plate inside and ... well the water is not so much going through it as around it. Can you clean them out and recycle, or is it easier and more appropriate to replace it ? I hope that makes more sense Thanks again Shortee... who is learning lots today!

SpidersWeb
Your local pet store (where you got the Jebo 501) will be able to supply the replacement cartridges. They come in packs of 3 and from memory are around $7-9 for a pack. I recommend cleaning the old one in a bucket using tank water and continuing use, because otherwise you'll be throwing out all your beneficial bacteria and making the tank cycle again. If your water is starting to look or smell bad, you'll need to do 20-30% water changes until it clears.
