Brianemone
Hey Peeple Just wondering if anyone knows what causes spotting on Discus. Looks sort of like pepper (heck it might even be called peppering). Also is it permanent or does it come and go.
Discusguru
what strain of discus are you talking about. Pigeon discus will always have the peppering (black). Leopard will have the red spot. ron
sharn
peppering is pretty common, heavily peppered fish are less desirable than 'clean' fish. some fish will show more peppering when they are stressed but the really good quality ones dont have the ability to show that (peppering just doesnt exist on them). most pigeons do have a degree of peppering on them permantly
Luke*
Keeping pigeon blood discus with a dark background supposedly brings out the peppering (yup that's the correct word) more.
