My HG lawn has been a bit dumb lately so i will post a pic or two of Antwans of his tank back in the day when he had a MEAN lawn 8) Hope ya don't mind ant! quack Posted January 6, 2007 Author Report Share Posted January 6, 2007 yeah it looks great! im still not sure tho ive seen a few pics of tanks using gloso that looked amazing. the lfs had some "hair grass" in the other day but it looked really shit and long not like the suff in yours antwan. does it have a scientific name or anything? antwan Posted January 6, 2007 Report Share Posted January 6, 2007 It's as long as it is because it's been grown emersed. That's what mine was like when I first got it. After a while, with good conditions it will change and look like the stuff in the pic above. There certainly are some fantastic tanks out there with glosso. There's also the small variety of tenellus that looks kinda like hairgrass but smaller and has red bits on the leaves. I suppose I don't really prefer any type of ground cover because they all look fantastic when they form a lawn, the trick is to just keep the maintenance up because they can turn to crap quickly. antwan Posted January 7, 2007 Report Share Posted January 7, 2007 Eventually the lawn will get very dense. They will get so close they won't be able to get enough nutrients etc. My hairgrass did this, so I just ripped it all out and started again by planting the individual plants a few cm apart.
