penguinleo
I have set up a new planted tank and am looking for any type of plant which posesses some pointy tip slender long leaves. Something that doesn't grow too big and is nice in the foreground. Help will be appreciated. :bounce:
Alan
 Thought sag had the type of leaves you wanted, especially about 100 of them. Alan
alanmin4304
Sag subulata will be taller than microfolia but both will grow quite tall with MH lighting. Pupuke have a small Echinodorus tennellus which I suspect is tenellus tenellus and will not go so rank. You should have some stargrass today which would be OK if you keep it trimmed short. I have yet to convert tenellus parvulus to submersed growth to see what it is like.
antwan
There's always hairgrass too.
penguinleo
Haha Alan...those are for another position in the tank. Something like this looks nice but the leaves get too long and all over the place.. http://www.aquahobby.com/garden/e_Cyperus_helferi.php Stargrass is very nice short in clumps but I'm looking for some plants more like on the top link. Something short with long leaves like the above link. And Antwan, how many watts of light do you need at least to grow hairgrass like you have before? Did you have CO2 and all the rest of it? Thanks all for your replies.
SpidersWeb
Dwarf Sag grass sounds exactly like what you're after. It likes strong lighting but doesn't get too big, has pointy leaves, and is a nice bright green. Spreads rapidly via runners if you have good lighting (and maybe CO2) http://www.aquahobby.com/garden/e_subulata.php
