quack
i got my new light today, a 250w MH. it was ment to come with a 13k bulb but in the action it said that it could come with a 5500k bulb if needed well i asked of the 5500k bulb for my plants, but today when it came im sure its the 13k bulb as its really blue. my question is if it was the 5500k bulb then it should be more of a yellow-white colour right? evilknieval69
Yes, you should definately be able to tell if you have the 13000K or the 5500K. The 13000 should look quite blue, and the 5500K should look, as you said, a yellowy white. It *should* also say on the bulb what kelvin rating it is..... skippy
Quack PM JetskiSteve to see if he has a 6500K bulb. I bought 3 14000K 250W off him and they are excellent (actually bought 4 as I broke one fitting it into my Arcadia fitting! - was not a happy camper  ) I know he sells other bulbs as well but not sure what Cheers Skippy

suphew
Steve is good, I'm sure he will sort you out. BTW the lower K bulbs should be really easy to get, your local lighting shop should have them, its the about same kevin range as they use in offices etc so they are common as. But if you do get stuck I'll happily get one for you and do a swap, I know the shop down the road from me has them

Ira
Also keep in mind the colors can shift a bit when they're first burning in.
