skippy
Only problem is....waiting for it. I got my Bourneman and a couple of other books from Amazon. Way cheaper than what I could get them for here and surprisingly, they arrived in about 5 days - I was astonished at how quick they got here. ryanjury
Well we got the tank yesterday and drove back from wellington in the terrible traffic and got it all setup last night.. Did half the water from the existing setup and half with the instant ocean... All the soft corals look sad as I I think they may be dead.. Do I need to add anything else to the water for them? Whats the temp supposed to be... I have a box of stuff Kalk, joes juice, Strontuim concentrate, calcuim chloride concentrate, potassium iodine concentrate and phos zorb should I have added any of that? I have heard they just sulk when moved but wondering if theres anything I should have done..
JDM
cool! well done! ok to answer a few of your questions, yes leathers sulk, the temp should be around 25, you should not need to add anything to instant ocean, however for future referance most people mix it the day prior to using it and airate it over night. i have mixed it and used it srtight away many times with no ill affect. the box of stuff you have will come in handy once things settle after the move, did you get any test kits? just let the softies be for now, maybe try to get a photo so we can have a look at them and make sure there all ok. they are very hardy and a move like this is very unlickly to kill them. Ira
Hey, Ryan, did you get the RO filter sorted out?
ryanjury
Hey Ira, so it was you that Glenn rung? Didn't get it sorted it appears time and the time of year was against us.. We just used declorinated tap water and will sort the RODI unit out later when everything opens in the new year.. Am I sweet to use sea water here? It always looks muddy at the beach do I have to wade out a bit to get it? The soft corals look ok ones still a bit limp but one of the bigger ones with tentacles appears to be splitting in 2 so that should be interesting.. What do these corals eat? I have heard they eat microscopic stuff in the water.. Also lighting the tank came with a double 3ft and a double 2ft fitting but the bulbs in all of them are screwed with black lines around the ends.. The 2ft has a blue light in it and the double 3 just normal white lighting what bulbs does everyone recommend replacing them I dotn want to go halide just get whatever corals will be sweet with fluoros.. I got a kit with the following testers in it GH, NO3, PH, NH4, FE, KH, NO2, CO2 and PO4 is that all I need?
