Whiskas
Just thought i would let people know how to resuscitate (sp?) a goldfish (prolly works on other fish too). If you notice your goldfish stop breathing grab him gently and cradle him up the right way (ie as they swim) under the surface of the water. Then move him backwards and forwards through the water, thus making his gills work again. The smaller the fish the smaller the movement. Keep going until the fish can breathe for himself and can move around easily. It can take quite a bit of patience. This does work as I have resussed 2 of my own fish after they were oxygen deprived in a too small tank and stopped breathing. my 2 fish lived happily for a long time afterwards, one is still alive today, they didn't appear to suffer any ill effects. This will only work if the fish has stopped breathing for just a short time.
