evilknieval69
yes and no, the tank is not that deep, t5s should be fine. You could always add a mh later and still use the t5s Oh Ohk
TM
I'll let my brother know the MC500 is OK and get it underway TM thanks for the phone call and advise, we hope to be down in ChCh maybe end of Jan and would like if possible to see some of your tanks, would this be OK. Does your friend have any Pictures of the T5 Retro fit or part numbers for the bits he used?? Thanks again to all those who have replied Mike No worries. No photos sorry, from memory he used the arcardia gear and cliped them in under the splash guard between the other bulbs. You could look at ripping the t8 bulbs out and mounting the t5s instead, easy as
jetskisteve
Deltec MCE600 would be better?? U would remove the filter from the top & prob the lights too a Quad T5 unit (216 Watts ) would be a starter although a friend running that tank has 2x Quad T5's over it. A halide or 2 could be an option?? keep scanning trade me
reef
Wife wants AquaOne Windsor 88 They are nice tanks but vey hard to get a hangon skimmer on them as you have to remove the bracing which is a lot of work. I think there is also a windsor 66 which is about 200L, however you wont be able to get any skimmer on it. The mce 500 would be perfect as i had it running on a ar980, if you get a small tank a deltec mce300 is also a hangon skimmer which is good for small tanks up to 250L. If you get 4x t5s then you can keep most anemoes.

Today we have set up the AR620T Santa delivered and Aquascaped and filled it up (Freshwater) so we will be transfering all the fishies we are keeping from the AR980 to it in a couple of weeks. Rest will be up for grabs in the local buy/sell Once I can get the tank emptied I am going to rip out the standard tubes from the hood and see it I can fit 5 or 6 3ft T5's in the space thats there while I wait for the skimmer to arrive. Any ideas on the mix of tubes to have would be good!! Now a question about water flow, How many pumps should I have?? Would just something like this be better although would take up a bit of room in the tank?? Looks like it would cost the same as 3 decent pumps. http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_wavemakers_wave2k.asp?CartId= I plan to keep a photograpic record of the conversion so if anyone want to see it i will make posts as I go.
