Insect Direct
You could try putting some daphnia in with them, I think I read that somewhere for goldfish eggs but not too sure if itll work!
antwan
Perhaps your male is unfortunately sterile? Do they get much current over them?
caserole
I would not panic just yet rcon021, I don't know how many females you have but unless it was the same female the eggs may be old. just keep breding them ..... I have bronze corys breeding from time to time, unless the same female breeds twice in a short time the eggs have a very poor yeld, so this maybe the problem you are having....your fish are full adults not young adults. So...just keep doing what you are doing if your fish are fine you will get good eggs in time. What ever you do don't give up other wise you will go back to square 1. as for water flow over the eggs, this maybe a problem but remember the fish know what they are doing and will choose the best area's to place there eggs. rcon021
thanx stu. I remove the eggs and place them in a small container. I don't leave them with the parents because they are gone within an hour or so. I will keep trying till i find out why this is happeneing... Hope it all pays up sometime soon. caserole
Yes I do too . I was so tempted to buy them myself but just didn't have the funds to do so. There a very nice and popular cory, I don't really understand why they are not imported through he normal channels. Good luck mate. p.s I managed to pick up a young pair of albino b/n while I was up your way last week
rcon021
good stuff mate. The C.Weitzmani are still expensive overseas. I will have my fingers firmly crossed so we can all share in the fun. Do you think that the problem can be due to Ph or the hardness level? caserole
I read an artical on breeding them and I don't recall them needing special conditions and as your on Auckland water which is rain water with a little lime it should be fine. Do you have bubbles and a little blue in with your eggs??? The C.Weitzmani are still expensive overseas. Over priced pretty fish , there not that hard to breed apparently compared to other cory's. Luke*
You could try formalin as an antifungus for the eggs instead. What did you do to get them breeding rcon021?
