nicmack Posted December 2, 2006 Report Share Posted December 2, 2006 for the last week a cloudy appearace has taken hold in the tank i tried to use magic clear but it reacted with whatever was in the tank and made it milkier i have been doing 20% water changes for the last two days to try and dilute it out....all the fish seem fine howeve i lost a harlequin overnight it had a missing tail and two clear bubbles on its body i have been checking for whitespot as well it dosent seem to be there at the moment but two platys are behaving quite oddly...any suggestions? is it an algae bloom? It is more than likely a bacterial bloom (usually caused by overfeeding) Feed less, do water changes and vacuum the gravel if it is too full of waste, and it should come right. nicmack Posted December 5, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 5, 2006 thanks for that i haven't fed for two days and have done nighlty water changes for the past 4 days doing a biggher 50% change last night it is still quite milky looking the gravel is still picking up a bit of junk and i noticed it is particularly soft in one area is this normal?
