Or anyone have any pic's or tanks forsale that are 350ltrs or bigger forsale, I really like the hooded tanks that come with the matching stands etc but not really worried to much.

I'm thinking instead I could upgrade one of my 300ltr tanks that have fishies in it and use there current tank for the turtles instead hehe good sneaky way to upgrade one of my tanks without my b/f getting grumpy cos he know the turtles need a new tank hehe.

Cummon someone please help me out. Even if its just pics of tanks that people own so i can see whats around. :)

Hey there Timtam22,

We purchased one of those Aqua nova tanks off Rodders6 a couple of months ago (black). We drove over and picked it up, the only issues we had were:

1. Instructions were similar but not the same as actual

2. Overhead filter media box had a slight pinhole leak caused through the manufacture process (RTV'd it up)

We paid the buy now price since, but still a good deal for brand new

Lid has 3 powerpoints (UK type) on outside, and 3 25W Fluro's which can be switched off/on individually. Cabinet is constucted of a MDF type material covered in a thin laminate. The pump included is an Aqua Nova 1600L/H powerhead. I replaced half the ceramic noodles as they are small and have smooth surfaces. The Lid is all one unit, this might be something for you to consider if you are putting turtles in it as the access is a little restricted.

Hope that helps,

Cam

hi timtam

I have had a look at these on trademe & reading the description above they sound very much like the Sunsun unit I have. I have found the premade tanks with hoods very good to use & like the tidy look of the matching hoods & cabinet. they are a good option & very cost effective.

Yea most my tanks are the pre made ones I have 3 aqua one tanks and 1 jebo.

If i did use it for turtles i wouldn't use the filter in the top, i use a canister. But theres a problem now that i just thought of!!! I may have to cut holes to fit the filter in and out take tubes, but i don't want to not be able to use the filter at a future date :-? :-?

I don't really mind if theres a filter in the lid or not but I like the idea of the built in lights 8)

Anyone know if any suppliers like aqua one etc etc make tanks 5 or 6 ft?? or even just bigger than 300ltrs???

Aha! with that aqua nova tank the filter box is removable. It just sits in the back of the lid unit. There are 2 precut holes in the back of the lid unit so this might suit your needs as you could just remove the filter box and leave the power head out of the tank, then run your tubes out the holes in the back.

Yeah, I have a 1000mm Sunsun tank. have had it since february & it has been brilliant. I have added a canister filter (CF1000 Aqua One) & still run the hood filtartion & the water is so clear I looks like the fish are floating in mid air.

The hood is mostly alloy, the front section tilts up, middle is fixed as the lights are under it & the back tilts back to open up to access the four filter boxes. The only parts of the hood that are plastic are the end caps. The front corners are folded around, not butt joined.

It has a pump, spraybar filtration system that IMO works well but also has rebates in the back of the hood for heater cables & external filter piping. It also has pre-drilled holes in the back of the cabinet for external filter piping as well.

Others have said that the older versions were not very good but I have had nothing but great experiences with my tank & cabinet.

Heres a link to a pic
