bulldogod
Ive seen pictures of differant coloured layers of stones or what ever it is(What is it?) in bottom of tanks and it looks really good. Is it easy to do and maintain?????Also that wavey effect looks good to.
alanmin4304
It is usually a layer of material good for plant growth then a more inert layer of gravel to hold the media down and stop the water going cloudy
smidey
If you put the plant mix down, be careful of what fish you intend to put in the tank. I believe some cichlids dig, my LFS had put the plant substrate & ended up having to remove it all as the fish dug it up which made the water cloudy, clogged the filter & generally made it look awful. bulldogod
Ok, Thanks, I thought it was just for decoration
alanmin4304
If you like how it looks you could obtain the same look by using different colours of gravel in layers but it would not be a good idea with large cichlids as they would soon rearrange it all when they get the urge to breed.
