sharn
could be the stress from the meds?
fishboi
could be the stress from the meds? i am thinking the same thing or lack of oxygen, usually with med it puts stress on the fish making them needing more oxygen and raising the temperature also decrease the oxygen level i always try to find the cause of the whitespot. whitespot is always around it just doesn't bother the fish most of the time and only occurs when the fish are stressed somehow which allows the whitespots to latch on while the fish is at a weakened state. one very common reason for fish getting stressed is because they feel insecure and unsafe. what sort of ornaments are in the tank?, drift wood, plants....... if its a smallish tank [under 100Litre] and with minimal hiding place in the tank and placed where there is always ppl around [lots of foot traffic] is a sure thing for whitespots. pixiejanet
Have you tested the water?? some med affect the water perameters... Also, some meds require extra aeration in the tank, as they can reduce the oxygen.... I`ve never upped the heating when treating whitespot, just kept going with meds until the tank apears absolutely clear... Then used carbon in my filter to clean the water... Suppose i must have been lucky... Sorry for your losses... PJ
sharn
formalin depletes oxygen quite alot (depending on % used) so you could be onto something there fishboi.
