Catfishmichele
I put this on my welcome but thought I might put it here as well. My name is Michele and I'm a newbie here. I have a 60 gallon fish tank that was given to me. It was a established 5 year tank and the lady moved and gave me all her fish about 6 months ago now. I had to set the tank all up and from scratch again. I have bala sharks, angels, mollies and tetras. They seem to get along great but lately my fish have been dying. I noticed this morning that two of my fish have white around their mouth and along their body and it is eating away at their mouth. It is not "ICK" Could this be some sort of fungus? My nitrates were up high but I fixed that problem. I recently did the 25% water change, cleaned the plants, gravel, etc and then a few days later my fish got this? Any suggestions? Thank you! sharn
i posted in the welcome one too about the fungus. just wondering if you know how big those balas are going to get? they average 12" when adults (look stunning at that size too) and are fast fish, they will eventually take out your smaller fish and you may find they out-grow the tank. not to worry though, its a great excuse for another large tank  a 125 should suit em depending on how many you have and you might be able to put a few larger fish in with them
