cracker
if you have stock, you will need to do a 75% water change NOW. THIS WILL NOT HURT ANYTHING, SO LONG AS YOU MATCH THE OLD WATER AS BELOW. Make sure the temp and PH and salinity is identical before you chuck it in. If no stock leave for a few more weeks. cracker
I wouldnt bother with vodka for cycling. Not really necessary. I spose you could dump in 2ml per 100 litres and leave it. They may bosst populations. I wouldnt dose any more than that though as it may throw other balances out re bacteria etc. Just my opinion. Give it a try! It wont hurt anything thats for sure. reef
last sunday i gave my tank its water change and took the mussels out as the ammonia had spiked but i was wondering how many days until it wll come down and do u have to do more water changes its reading 2.0 ppm and its been a week Just leave the tank and let it do its thing. You could add bacteria like bio digest which are live bacteria; it may speed up the cycle. Try Hollywood’s as they have just started cycling and have added ammonia chloride and bio digest. it takes about 6 weeks to cycle.
trinity
Don't be in too much of a hurry, the thing I always remember being told when going Marine is you need patience. I waited a good 2 months before I even looked at adding anything in my tank.
