Before & after zeovit pics

Posting this link because there are some people on this forum struggling with corals that are too light, not all of them zeovit users either. The guy who started this thread has made his corals too light and is given some advice which might help some people here also.

Don't like his after photos at all.

I really don't think anyone in their right mind would!

This is the issue I am having currently but to a lesser extent. I'm most interested in the page where he shows the purple acro after I think 5 weeks (?) of dosing k-balance (effectively potassium)

:hail: exactly the issue im having. pink poc is hard core pink, same with pink monti (well, it's like a peach colour but nice) but just can't get the purples to come out as in the thread above. zeovit k-balance will fix you reckon?

It is possible to have really pink monti's, yet good rich colours in the other corals also. I know this because it has sometimes happened all at the same time in my own tank. However I am not sure about just why, & all the chemistry involved.

I think there is still knowledge needing to be gained by the hobby as a whole, but it is gradually happening, both thanks to the good folks at zeovit.com, plus other keen sps keepers also.

As time progresses I am sure more of these things will be quantified and understood, most of the new discoveries are greeted with enthusiasm by some, and skeptisism by others, but time eventually establishes wether they are valid.

That guys trails are hard to judge - going from MH to all T5's is a pretty major change IMO, added to the zeovit change he's talking about. I definately agree - the befores were much more appealing, although he seems to think things have improved, so maybe its the lighting etc.

very true - decent lighting makes a big difference - at least it made the largest improvement in the shortest time for me (couple of months)

for me personally, i have similar issues as this guy if i specifically look at his acro colours - good for some (pinks) bad for others (blue, purples) my acro's look exceptionally similar to his - we both changed lights at the same time, both use zeovit (used). perhaps it's more the actual change rather than the actual difference in lights themselves - corals needing time to adjust. thats the problem with this hobby, make a change then wait a few months to see if what you did was right! very frustrating if you get it wrong.

just got back from a short holiday in Fiji (nananu-i-ra island).

great diving, but the snorkling was absolutly awesome. large table acro's and stags in less then a meter water at low tide and very close to the beach. pastel colours in all forms (blue, purple-blue, orange, green! and purple.

corals colour at the dive site's where as expected (darker full colours) at 18 to 25 meters. but the colours on all the sps on the snorkling sites were a lot different. way lighter in colour, but with nice tips. but all of them looked pale in comparision. as there is no agriculture, villages or anything else that could pollute the beach and the dive sites are only 1km away one could assume that its exactly the same water. (it gets a very strong food rich current that run past those islands, had 2 meters max visibility one morning but crystal clear in the afternoon). so the only really obvious difference would be the light. it was very strong at 1 meter (i am still peeling like crazy even with heaps of sunblock)

Thanks Chris that's great info! Does confirm the effect of light.
