nztrudy
Has anyone had any luck breeding kissing gourami's, I have 4 in 100L tanks and hoping they will breed, i have no idea what sex they are. Caryl
Haven't bred them personally but know someone who has so it is possible. Sex differences are slight. Dorsal and anal fins on the males are slightly more pointed and the female is wider. The male kissing gourami doesn't build a bubble nest like other gouramis, they spawn in the bottom layers of the water and the eggs rise and stick to plants, or float on the surface. The parents don't care for the eggs or fry so should be removed after spawning. Incubation period is around 50 hours. Good luck!
