kylejmorrison
Hi I am looking at getting some for my tank. I have 5 gold fish and 3 tropical. The gold fish are resonable size. Will bristlenose go well with the goldfish?? What is a resonable price to pay? Thanks
Pawz
Hey there, I have never tried but at one of my LFS they have them in with goldfish. They are at about 18o room temp. You can usually get them off TM for around $5ea for 3-4cm ones.

pixiejanet
No! I wouldn`t. How big is your tank? I have two goldfish, they are 10yo and they live in a 48x12x15 tank,(that`s inches!) that is fully stocked... Goldfish are coldwater fish, tropicals are tropical fish used to temps of around75f... I cannot understand how anyone can mix coldwater and tropical fish, it`s wrong... btw, what tropicals do you have in with your poor goldies??? Jan. kylejmorrison
How big are you gold fish, thats quite a large tank to only have two fish in. The goldfish are fine in a heated tank, the tank sits at 23-24 degress and i have had no problem with that. Not shore on what kinds of tropical fish. But they all get along fine. Caryl
They get along fine at the moment you mean. Goldfish, unless they are the fancy variety, are better off in cold water (they will live longer) or better yet - a pond. They are very messy and need a lot more space than tropicals. A 4ft tank for 2 large goldfish is not understocked. What size is your tank Kyle?
kylejmorrison
My tank is about 1.5m long about .50cm high and the side measurement is 60 cm but by no means are my goldies big. There is pleanty of room for all my fish.
evilknieval69
Yea, I reckon you could easily chuck a few bristlenose in there man. Bristlenose are sweet to be kept in unheated tanks aswell, They are pretty hardy fish HTH Rogan
