Second, you should not rely on the overflow design to protect you from blockage of the overflow - that's what stand pipe covers are for. Which makes the whole safety factor argument irrelevant anyway. A single durso is for all intents and purposes no safer than a single full siphon. I don't have a standpipe cover on my durso, and don't know many durso's that do, to me this just confirms the difference in safety factors A single durso is for all intents and purposes no safer than a single full siphon. Think we will just have to agree to disagree on this one, I don't want to rehash stuff that never went anywhere the first time round. Not only is it unrealistic to expect, but if the durso was capable of taking double the water flow, it would be damn noisy running at normal flow. Besides you are close enough to come over drink my beer ((actually missus beer) and if you add value,... a wee dram of true scotch), then tell me where I went wrong... :lol: Anyways, next focus, rip out cabinet walls and provide enough support to fit in long tank. Long tank to include first chamber for in-sump skimmer then refugium then return chamber of sorts. Aiming for 3-4 times sump turnover.
