Does anybody have a tube number for the T5 4 foot blue tubes ( ie osram or philips number) Thanks
  9. Morning, He spawned before isolation, he is way happy again and the colour is returning to the area that had been picked at. What was the market you raised Giants for, do they eat them somewhere in the world?
  10. Thanks for all the info, If the above post is true why for "no reason" did it suddenly spawn or is this just something they do now and again?
  11. This clam is about 200mm long and they were picking at an area about 25mm round, they had removed all the colouring to show a bright white patch, I am only assuming this is what had distressed it to the max, to get it to spawn Im picking it was stressed as it had also excreted some of its innards, but still seems really responsive and a lot happier now that shrimps cant get at it. Cheers
  12. Fairly sure, good bright colours, amazing retraction and extension of flesh and remarkably fast ability to open and close when he feels threatened, he just doesnt notice? or seem to respond to the shrimps picking at him.
  13. Hi guys have you ever heard of cleaner shrimps eating the flesh from the valley of a very large healthy clam? He has been isolated for his own good at the moment but not sure why the shrimps have taken a liking to him. Hoping he will survive, he was severely distressed and spawned last night ( a defence mechanism I have read) but is still responsive to light this mornin. Thanks

    Hammer coral

Sorry to be so vague and unscientific here but we have a hammer coral that has been extremely happy for over 6 months now, yet all of a sudden it has started to die off from one end, its not discoloured at all its just not displaying full extension and is slowly dissapearing from its skeleton, its appearance is such that it appears to be dissolving, there is a Goniopra nearby but they have been friends for about 5 months now with now agro noted from either party. Any common sugestions as o what maybe happening here, Water parameters remain unchanged and no shuffling or disturbances in tank, may have been a little remiss in water changes lately but hasnt shown in water testing?
  16. Hi Doc, It is planned for Sunday so will let it run, seems its too far to Ashburton for most people, one or two keen but will leave doors open in case people change their minds.
