Cheers neon
did those bags come in handy? :lol:The tanks are looking good as always.
That sword you have is most likely novoe zealandae and not pygmy chain - like most NZ natives it needs an incredible amount of light - im trialling it myself.
Bags were handy phoenix, cheers ;-) You'll be going through the same thing soon!
And eugh about the plant... I was eyeing up the dwaf sag and the dude said, or were you interested in this one? and I said, whats gonna grow faster, my dwarf sag was a slow grower, and he grabbed this out for me. They will have 4x 24 watt HO T5s over them though 8) Hopefully enough. They do look like the chain sword I had in my nano a while back though...

Shifted from Palmy Nth to Tokoroa in easter (feel free to laugh) and my tank was down in Palmy until last weekend. Fish got fed but that was it, so tank was looking pretty sad by the time I got to it.
Heres what it was in its prime:
You don't wanna see what it looked like last weekend haha...
But here it is now. Wanted to use my black sand (pilfered from the beach) but found out the iron ends up killing fish, so got some substrate from Wonderworld (zomg that place is amazing). Not sure if im completely sold on it, but it does make the green look nice, and most of it will hopefully get covered in plants anyway. Managed to salvage some java ferns and my dwarf anubias, and bought 2 bunches of dwarf chain sword yesterday (went a long way didn't it).
Would like some amazon swords in there, but any other suggestions for background plants?
Fish currently jammed into 35 litre while this spends a day clearing and heating up (cardinals, hatchets and a dwaf flag)
Oh, also a second set of T5s going in under the hood this week

Will be finding some way to fit this song into my wedding... Book of Love by Peter Gabriel
Have a look, the song starts after 20 seconds

And have to throw another fun one in. Not quite as extreme though!
Have seen a skier doing this on Ruapehu:
-
Holy heck that is soooooo wicked
Wish I had the guts to do it! And the spare money to write off a pair of ski's each time for the ski-jumping haha

Follow links for photos from last weekend

Had rather the awesome day! Workmates went today, and I was kicking myself for not going with them haha, as the mountain ended up being all open for most of the day (I didn't go as weather forcast was so poor). Had a good day though anyway, planning to go up again next weekend...

wow, tell your friend they are fantastic!
-
Did you take all those photos? Where and how?
If so, impressive
-
Do you make the blocks themselves? I'd be interested in buying blank blocks at some stage (not till next month tho sorry!)

Check local newspapers as well. It can be handy to rent direct without a property manager inbetween and theres no real estate fee (one weeks rent plus GST). Word of mouth is also good, put it out that you are looking. I was at my workplace a week and then a colleague said one of his properties was up for rent and would I be interested, so managed to get a house and just start paying rent without having to worry about bond, rent in advance etc.
Otherwise, trademe, check all local RE agencies etc, what you are doing basically

We drove from Taupo to Palmy today
Sorry! Will be going Palmy to Tokoroa sometime in the next week or so...
-
Love the photo of your aunty - people portraits I find very difficult! you captured the moment beautifully. The one of your son and his friends is also very good :bounce:

The lightening ones are cool stu! did you leave the shutter open for those? I like the tree one in your first post too. And they look like film camera photos?
The photo below is of someone slack lining. He was good at it (even when the rope started to swing as shown here). My flatmates have decided they want to do it, so theres currently a rope set up in our backyard between a random tree and our grapefruit tree haha.
Trip to Foxton beach in the evening 2 nights ago:
Very windy, so seagulls were very handily hovering nice and still for photos
My fav landscape shot from the day:
And my partner posted it on another online forum, and someone edited it to make it look like this (which I thought was really cool, like a painting)
Wish I knew how to post-edit photos like that!

Do you mean Te Aute?? Its about 10 mins south of my place/Pakipaki, so about 15 mins down the road to Palmy from Havelock Nth 8)

I see your abandoned house A-Town, and I raise you another 8)

we use milk with a bit of cornflour mixed in as the 'glue' to hold wontons together.
Made a tasty dinner the other night. Cheated and bought a jar of Pams japanese Teriyaki sauce (we usually make our own stir fry sauce). Cooked up some beef bits, stir fried some veges with garlic, added sauce and simmered down. Bought some rice noodles. You soak them for 15 mins in cold water, then drain them, then just add them to the sauce and break them up a bit.

lol, thats to be expected. It took Kira almost 2 weeks to really start playing with the wee fuzzbut here. She started off with hisses every time she saw him, now she just complains if he whomps her too hard
-
oh oh oh *jumps up and down*
I have a wee man here who needs a special home, long haired, but not tabby sorry. He was black, but is currently black and silver at the moment lol. We were going to keep him (him and his sisters were orphans I fostered) but I don't think I should have 3 cats in a busy household, and when I might be moving away.

If you have your heart set on a tabby, I wont be insulted if you say no 8)

I like the first one. And desaturating the background of that flower photo looks good too.
Fiance took this a couple of nights ago, and I tweaked the brightness etc as I liked the photo:
-
Third one is brilliant! I love it
Only suggestion I have, is if you look at the first one, its focussed on its back, rather than its face/eyes. Otherwise that would have been contesting for favourite photo
-
All hail the civic, the billboard speaks the truth!
Cool colour too
I like the really light blue ones, have only seen a couple around
-
Purple civic hatchback?? ooo can we have a photo? lol
And I have to agree, GO CIVICS! I have a silver '96 hatchback

Partner got the film from one of his film cameras developed today. Had to lol, he took this photo whilst I was macro-ing it up with the spider:
Hans, I thought you were one of the people who had gecko's? or did I mix you up with someone else. I know there was a thread on here a while back, thought it was yours, but searching gecko brings up like, 3 threads, none really directly related at all.

which windows were broken?? Friends car had his window broken a total of 3 times in less than a year (good ole Palmy). He always replaced them by going to wreckers yards and getting one from them
And I know the feeling, it sucks and you feel violated
Finally have my tank again
in Freshwater
Posted
Thats dwarf sag in that first tank photo
It did grow, but slowly, coz the tank was unfertilized, had only 2x 24watt T5s, no CO2... oh, and it often spent its time under a coat of green slime.
Plus my tank is quite tall, 50cm I think
Will get a photo...
