  1. Thanks, might not feed until Monday and then try a pea. Yes water is now fine, but will keep up regular part changes. Thanks for your advice, sounds like I am on the right track, just have to be patient and let him heal.
  2. I have an unwell small Black/Grey Fantail at my work after being overfed over easter break, and tank dirty, one Pet store gave me Melafix which helped a little ( he has blood red marks around gills), but my regular pet store thought might be septasemia (sp) so gave antibiotics, a big improvement has been shown and he is now swimming around and looking for food. Only problem is he seems to be nose down and bum quite a bit, almost like he has lead in his head and air in his tail and he cant keep level. I have read up on bladder problems but doesnt fit the discription given. Water is now fine , and have followed all instructions given by pet store, am wondering if trying a pea ( suggested on several websites for bladder issues) and maybe some salt ( the aquarium stuff) any other suggestions or advice. He is much loved by the staff , his name is Pepsi, and his friend Mirinda (tiny orange gold fish) keeps him company , we recently retired Coke and Fanta to my pond as they got too big for tank . Thanks in advance for your advise.
  3. Thanks, its only a 40 litre tank so dont think I can add any more , but then I dont know much about the Barbs, do they grow as big a goldfish, therefore have the same restrictions on tank ?
  4. Hi there I have 2 Rosie Barbs who are being real bullies to my Blackmore , any suggestions other than to separate them to their own play pens. The poor blackmore has bite marks all over and is spending his time at the top of the tank only, seems to be where the barbs go the least. Also have a few mountain minnows in there but they keep to themselves and are fine. Thanks Heaps.
  5. This is mum talking , 5 year old dead to the world after 2 hours of me reading all the questions and answers out.
  6. Thanks for the advice. Mum and I have learnt alot from this site today, thanks everybody for sharing their knowledge, it really helps us newbies.
  7. Mum got me a small plastic tank ( for safety) which is Approximately 41cm Long, 28cm Wide and 30cm Deep, it has a filter/pump and a few plants. Can you advise how many gold fish are ok in this size. Would like one blackmoor (one black one is good luck) a gold fish and a few mountain minnows if able to. Appreciate any advice , mum will make sure I dont put too many in. Thanks
