  1. Thanks jolliolloi. I must admit I haven't seen the Vision 450 but was pleased to see that it stood higher than the smaller models. This is one thing that the Aqua Ones have over most Juwels. Why both filters? The internal filter is not particularly nice to look at and if we choose a large cannister I can't see that we need the internal, but will pass on any comments to the client who wants the usual community tropicals - angels etc. We usually prefer Eheim filters over anything else for reliability, quality, long life, speed of cleaning. The Aquience comes with a filter which we could change but also has T5 lighting which would be nice.

  2. We have quite a few Aqua One Royale's (bow front) and Regal and Monarch which are curved corners and have had no problems what so ever. They are all quite well braced so not worried about this, more concerned about the filtration in the Jewels. Also bought a Jebo curved corner recently but put a cannister filter on it and the only problem we have with that is access to service it - it is quite a rigmarole (sp) to get lid off due to the filtration unit along the back.

  3. Thanks spoon. I have never used these aquariums and really want reliability above all else. Also looking at Aqua One Aquience 120 bow front which is a bit smaller. Client wants a bow front and money is no object - wouldn't that be nice!

  4. We grow blue hygrophilia, ludwigia, lysamachia, baby tears and java fern in all our goldfish tanks with no problems whatsoever. Mind you most places where the tanks are have a temperature of around 20 degrees. The only time that the goldfish destroy the plants are at this time of the year when the hygrophilia can be very tender.

  5. We have a number of Aqua One units and find them all really good. The Evo and Eurostyle both come with cannister filters and heaters. The lighting could be better on the Eurostyle but I believe the Evo comes with T5 lighting.

  6. We are babysitting a pair of 20 year old turltles for a friend and picked them up today. The male has had the infection for at least a month, ainly on his tail, and I am pretty sure the female now has it as her legs look whiteish. As we are in the will to inherit them when the owner passes on and we are very fond of them I would like to clear this up before he gets back in a couple of weeks. We are out at work all day so would prefer to trat in the tank - Any suggestions? we have alreadu salted the tank. Thanks.

  7. We have tried just about all of them and recomend Eheim and Hydor. If you have a hood on the tank I would suggest Hydor as it has the facility to run an airline in to it which ensures the food remains dry but you may have to import it as there are no NZ Suppliers.

  8. I have just started selling plants on TM too as we have more than we can use. I would be very interested to how people like them packaged and if they prefer bunches (with lead) or just stems. I have been packaging in plastic bags slightly blown up with a little water and then wrapped in corrugated cardboard - have not had any damaged yet as far as I know.

    Mod Edit:... (Bill)

Please use the Sales .. area (may be Commercial in your situation..) to advertise the plants you are selling.

Take note that you can advertise here or on TM... but not both at once.

. All my plants are grown emersed (apart from crypts and corymbosa)and used in our rental aquariums. They grow really well and are far better than any I have seen in pet shops. I have to agree with the comment about hydroponically grown plants as I have purchased these in the past.

Really grateful for any comments you may wish to make.

  9. That is a really good deal and below the usual wholesale price - I think they specialed some out a while ago. We purchased a few of these and they are a really nice unit. They are different from the AR series as they come with the canister filter rather than top filters. I would definitely go for it and far better than the Sun Sun ones.

  10. I have been testing the ph in Wellington water regularly and it is usually 6.5 which is too low for gold fish. Use some oyster grit in the filter and this will raise it slowly.

Never had problems with comets and fans together except that comets will get to the food quicker.
