t5 wiring for speed
I cant get a decent shot of the endcaps, but they attach the same way as the ballasts do.
-
growth is good, havent much to compare to as I have only ever used t5

$410 last month (better make those swimming classes for my son cheaper! )
lol just started heating the water in the new pool, 400,000l will make quite some gas bill I am sure
-
Updated photo, not a great one butu get the idea of how the tank is coming along
-
$255 last month
-
$230 last month, 1 reef tank, 2 adults, 2 kids, gas bottle water heating. Go the heat pump and good insulation
-
Its a red sea sailfin tang, nice fish very peaceful

Hey charles, tank is going ok. I am happy with the ballasts, 6 bulbs put off plenty of light. I will try to get some photos later today
-
nice tanks
-
I have always cycled my tank with the sand in it.
-
If your planning on having a reef with metal halides you will need both a chiller and a heater, if you run t5's you only need a heater.
-
you can try manual removal, or if your tank is big enough and you can keep one you can try a sailfin tang. I have heard sailfins eat it but its not a definate answer as some might eat it and some might not

sounds like bubble algae

I lived in the states for a few years and was into tropicalfish which lead to salt, I lived on the road at the time always travelling so couldnt get a tank till I moved home to NZ. Dave at HFF was very very helpful in my early years of keeping a tank, reef has been helpful as have a number of reefers who I have met over the years

By basic I'm meaning something like ours, not something like witherspoons totm last month, his backroom looks more like a laboratory than a fish tank room
-
I seriously doubt that its the lights that make any system that nice, much much more to it than that. His tank would probably look amazing with t8's. It is a very basic setup also

durso's do bubble in the sump, or at least all of mine have. Only way to get no bubbles is with a full syphon

Thats a really nice loking tank, well done

Yeah I think your correct puttputt, I am not sure how my tank would look without it. I am happy with it though.

I got the wire initially with my icecap ballasts(no longer use) the new stuff I got from an electrician. You should be able to get it from an electrical store
