thanks everyone for the help will place my drift wood in at some stage over the next day or so

so the leaching out of colour wont hurt my tank if i put it in and after several weeks or months with water changes and all that the leaching will stop is that correct ?

Brought a piece of drift wood from my LFS to put into my new aquarium have had it soaking in water in a bucket first pouring hot boiling water from the kettle on it and it is still "leaching" out color is it still suitable to put into my tank or am i doing something wrong ? ? thanks everyone

i got the the aquaone ar620T its 130 litres the one i was looking at getting was just the ar620 which was 90 litres (the price difference was $40.00 between the two) so i thought hey why not

is your tank an aquaone ar620t ? the same as my tank and i am starting out

Hi novice question here I am setting up my tropical tank and would like to know can i fully submerse my heater in the tank at the moment its about half way down the tank on the left the cord is running up and out from the tank to the power outlet its an Aquaone brand with the purple adjusting knob at the top. Thanks

Thanks so much joe just got my tank yesterday (bigger than the one i wanted haha) so letting it cycle for a week and a bit before i decide to put one or two fish in so plenty of time to research what i want

Thanks for your post Liam. Yeah still undecided yet about what id like to put in the tank fish wise but definitely will be some plants and starting out with something simple

Hi there everyone nice to meet you all ! My name is Jacob live in West Auckland and have really been wanting to get an aquarium and start keeping some fish for about 5 months now finally taking the plunge this weekend going out to get my first tank which will be an Aqua One AR620 from my LFS (notice the slag ive already picked up reading the forums haha) I hope this is a good tank for a beginner. I am nearly 25 years old starting out late huh haha have always had cats or birds growing up never any fish. Fish keeping caught my interest about a year ago and on and off i have thought about getting into it but its quite neat how you can have a little eco system in your own home i think. My biggest dilemma at the moment is where to place the tank ! haha but im sure as i go along there will be alot more questions asked. :nfs: Jacob
