  1. It looks like an inflammatory mass which is regressing. Even if it were a tumor, which it is unlikely, it would not be innervated and so a small incision as you made was very unlikely to be painful.

We don't necessarily anaesthetize humans when injecting into inflammatory masses. Would like to know if the globe has been perforated by the infection which would mean maintaining clean as possible water. My 2c as a human biologist.

the globe dose not look like it has been infected. that is why it got recoverd so well. the water change from once every two days down to once every week since he has moved in to a larger tank (800L). he is the healthest ever  thank you for sharing your knowlegde and concern.

  2. I had some not long ago. they were not that hardy as they are suggested as from my experience. they are OK to be in the community with less aggressive spices. but in fact they are extremely cowardly toward to bigger sized tank mates. If your set up is for an overall aggressive theme, foget about them. If the set up is generally peaceful, they would be stunning in there.

  3. A good improvement. Are you still using medication or has the course finished?

I have finished the treat but still doing 1/2 water change with stress coat+ added twice every week. the tumor is gradually smaller and smaller. will do a final followup thread when the tumor is disappeard.

  4. hi people, here is a follow up thread. photos approven that my texas is recovering magnificently. not showing oof or urging people to copy what I have done. just give a little hint on what you could do more likely to save a little life. and never give up from saving your fish.

  5. They are related to plecos and yes some have L-numbers. All suckermouth catfish, which includes plecos, are members of the catfish family Loricariidae. The catfish family has 6 subfamilies, one of which has most of the plecos, another includes the Otocinclus catfish, and another the whiptails. So they are relies but not the same.

in saying this they are all called catfish. but apart from long tails, they are same in function

  6. i know about the infertility of them but have read on some sites that they have succesfully hatched but need really high temps and lots of aeration i think a 10 litre tank would need 200lh aeration or something but have now sold the group for 230 anyways so onto next breeding project.

yes agree that. will be awesome to see some frys

  7. well thats a bit mean, he is allowed to try if he wants and if they do hatch what will you say then?

not being mean. the blood parrot is kind of man-made cichlid, they do not have ability to breed. Blood parrots will attempt to breed in an aquarium and some pairs attempt to breed very frequently (every few weeks). What most people find is that a pair will court, clean a nest site and then lay eggs. However, the eggs do not hatch in many cases. The parents will continue to care for the eggs for several days until the eggs turn white with fungus and then the parents will likely eat the eggs.

  8. haha yea cats a pain lol.

i was breeding them and had them laying but got eaten by my plecs

yea got the oscar about 2 weeks ago and hes grown alot
