What kind of snails do clown loachs like to eat. my clown loach has a little snail shell that she carries around the tank and I think maybe I should get her a few. Is this a good idea, I have heard they like to eat them.

Hi my pearl Gourami has a mark on her head this morning like she is missing some scales, should I put some salt in the water to be safe. Will salt upset my clown loach.

Thanks everyone. I got a little sponge filter. now I have some new neon tetras in there getting ready to go into my main tank.

I wished mine had of played nice sometimes, but they had both lost all their color and the one I have now was not happy, but he is now, got all his color back too.

I found a new home for 1 of my Gouramis and the one I have left is just beautiful. He never hides and if I put my finger in he comes up and touches me. Such a big differance its so nice to watch one happy fish rather than two fighting fish who chase each other all day. It was a shame to have to find one a new home but I think it was for the best.

I have a very small tank (about 10 ltrs) I am going to use as a quarantine tank for new fish. What type of filter and pump would be best, It is only 15cm high.

I have 2 that seem to be male. I am planing to find a new home for one and thought I knew which one was the bully. after a bit close observation, this is what is happening. One will have the spot in the middle of the tank and force the other to stay in the corner and wont even let him out to eat. Day 2 the other one is in the centre of the tank and yesterdays bully is hiding in the corner. This has been happening since I got the tank and fish over 2 weeks ago. Is this normal, I am pretty sure one will have to go as im worried they will kill each other. A man I contacted said even though they are both male they are a peacefull fish and wont fight. Hmmmm mine do.

Please tell me what a male Pearl Gourami is worth. he is about 10cm. I'm new to this and have no idea.

They both have orange under their chins and long fins. Now to find one a good home.

I will need to find him a new home. he is very very messy. and you are right, one of the Pearl Gourami need to go. now I have to decide which one. one has beautiful markings but he is mean and rules the tank, the other is not as pretty but he likes to be at the front and not hide.

We have purchased a tank two weeks ago and it is an established tank and came with fish. However after doing a bit of reshearch I think the fish in it are all wrong for this tank. We have an AR620 its is 90 ltr tank. I have 2 pearl Gourami, and Im pretty sure they are both male, they spend a lot of time chasing each other. I dont think two males is a good idea. I have a Gold Gourami and he is lovely but at this stage is only about 5cm and I have read he will grow to about 15 cm, and can become aggressive, is he right for my tank? I have a Sucker Catfish who is about 15cm and pulls out all the plants, he is pretty cool but distructive as he is so big. Will he get bigger? Iv been doing some reshearch but cant seem to find how big he will get. He is a ginger color. I have one lonely clown Loach who after two weeks I have become very attached to, but I have just learned how big he is going to get and I am feeling sorry for him as he has no friends. I Have no space for a bigger tank. I have 4 Tetras and I know i need more as there should be at least 6 to keep them happy. Do i have to get the same type? I also have a very little bristle nose and you dont even know she is there. Any advice would be good, a tank that comes complete with fish is not always a good idea ah. Im learning. just need to swap a few fish around I think.

thank you. I will be doing lots of research into any new additions to our tank. What we have so far is what we got with the tank when we purchased it. there are so many clown loaches for sale around here you wonder where the poor little guys will end up.

oh my god. I had no idea I was talking to a lady in a pet shop and she said they dont get much bigger than this and pointed to one that was smaller than mine. Mine is only 7cm. Stink I wanted to get him a friend but I guess he will have to move in with a friend else where. Stink he is so neat the life of the tank as all my other fish hide.

I had to put my little tetra out of his misery. He was not eating and getting very small I did not know what else to do. Poor little guy, was my first loss, bit sad.

It was a pre-established tank that we brought. Its an Aqua One AR620. it is 90ltr the filter is a bio filter that comes with it. We put in Aqua plus water conditioner and stress zyme biological filter booster. The man we got it off did not keep any of the water for us so we had to start from scratch with water. All the other fish seem fine so far. We have 2 pearl gourami, 1 sucker cat fish, 1 clown loach, 5 tetras, 1 gold gourami and a little bristle nose. Iv been told we have room for plenty more but want them to settle in first and we need to get a qt tank set up for new fish. How long do you qt new fish before you put them in the main tank? Im going to have so many questions as we go. hope you all don't mind.

I am very new to this and have a sick Tetra. He was fine one day, the next day he had what looks like a bruse on his side and is not swimming as well as his friends. I thought he may have been hurt by me Gouramis who swim round the tank very fast at times. It was then suggested that he could have a desease. now I'm not sure where to start.
