  1. Sorry guys, the Eggsitment is over During the night, Some one decided to have a mid-night feed  To be honest I half expected it to happen Still , - Plenty more fish in the sea - I have noted , and taken on board all the advice and tip you guys have offered over the last few days . Thank You Thank You Thank You Keep up the GOOD work Regards, Rod.

  3. Thanks for the info, I did not know they could spawn as quick as that. Every Saturday I Wash the Fish I normaly do a 50% water change and give the plants a hair cut that takes about 2 hours I only noticed the eggs after I started the water change, I allready had syphoned 15 ltr out , and Mom went a bit agro the eggs were/are about mid tank so I managed to take another 30 ltr out and still keep the eggs under water. I will change 45 ltrs every day now . That is about 20%.
  4. Out of focus. But Mom in front, Dad behind @ changing of the guard. The eggs are on the filter up-take tube . since the pic was taken 3 eggs have turned white ( infertile I think )
  5. Nearly there photo , but no text I think I placed the pic B4 I entered the text, that should have read :- Mom on the left , Dad in the middle. Just after feeding , the eggs are behing the plants. next one I will put in the text first

  10. Help ..... 2 of my 6 Discus have been doing naughty things the result is about 40 eggs on 1 of the filter uptake pipes. silly place to put them..... I think it happened yesterday. This is the first time for all concerned Both parants are on guard duty ( and good at it as well ) the question is :- Do you think that if i take the filter pipe off and put it and mum and dad in a floating net tank inside my aquaone 980 tank (215 ltr ) is a good idea. I would post a pic of mum & the eggs - but dont know how to

Thank you, If I add any thing to the water I usualy put it in where the water flows back in to the tank from the AR's filter inflow. To much disturbance in the water , there, so they stay out of the way. Regards Rod

Hi The info about my tank is as follows :- AquaOne AR980 (215 ltrs) I use their standard lighting set-up on for 10 hrs using a timer their trickle filter with each compartment using black foam , wool pad , black foam , ceramic noodles I also use a Fuval 204 canister filter using foam pads , ceramic noodles , filter wool , ceramic noodles Both suction pipes are together with the heater That combination gives a water flow of about 1680 ltrs per hour, or about 7 1/2 water changes per hour the Fluval return water cascades over the AR's power head and the AR's return is at the other end, without the extention , resulting in a gentle cross flow. Also I am using a U V sterilizer I change 90ltr per week ( approx 40% ) the water peramiters are farly constant at :- Temp 28 c . Ph 6.4 . Amonia 0 .Nitrite 0 . Nitrate <> 10 The tank contains :- Discus x 6 . Clown Loach x 2 . Pearl Gourami x 1 .Coolie Loach x 1 The fish are fed 3 times per day - TetraMin Tropical Flakes and TetraColor Granules, and mid-day some blood worm and a TetraMin Tropical Tablet The substrate is pea gravel between 20 -40 mm deep The plants - I am not sure about, But I think they are Cabomba ------------------------- I was hoping to attach a photo, But i'm not sure how. Hope this helps Tnx Rod

Thank you for the reply. I will post the info later on to-day. But first, what is the prefered size of photo's that can be posted. I have a fairly decent photo of the tank that might help , but its size is 2.51Mb & 3648 x 2736 pix I can resize it for posting , But I knowing the limit would help Tnx Rod.

Can anyone please tell me how often and how much Nutrafin Plant Gro i need to dose my 215 Ltr tank, to keep the Black/Red tuffed algae in check - or better still , to kill the stuff , without affecting the fish or plants.. tnx Rod.
  21. My answer is place some filter foam over the outlet hole. That stops the water running straight down, dragging air with it the piece of filter foam also collects a bit more muck, that will, in time block the pores up. So what i do , is to give it a quick rinse every 2 or 3 days, just to be on the safe side. :bounce: Noise Gone :bounce:
