I thought i would give them one last shot, and we have babies!! About 30-40 swimming freely around the tank, about 5mm size. Thanks for all ur help guys! U have made me be an amazing grandparent :) hehe

How easy is that? We do have a spare tank/heater/filter.. They lay them on a rock in the tank.. Should i just take the rock out and put it in a tank by itself?

Hey guys.. My Jewels have bred.. :bounce: But not quite.. They lay but just continue to eat the eggs.. I have been told they have successfully bred on more then 3 occasions. How do i stop them..? Its not like i can tell them off or smack their bums Thanks

Would have been helpful before we went, thanks though! As for Upper Hutt Pet Store.. Went to look at fish, had like 10 tanks running, zero fish. Was highly dissapointed.

Holy... Im amazed at that. I was going to start a marine tank, clearly i need to learn way more.. And potentially get a better job.. lol :oops:

Makes me ever so slightly jealous reading all this... Africans maybe 3-4 months haha. Mystics e yellows maybe a month or so.. Haha they are all my babies. I attempted to get the PRE-grown fish, but i think it was a fail. They just pick on all the littlies. Start from scratch.. Let you know if they are alive in 20 years

At least they know what neons were. I went to Animates Kaiwarawara (Wellington) and asked if they ever sold Discus. The lady then replied, um, what a discus? Pfft. Will NOT be visiting them again.
