Tsarmina I know of barter card but have never heard of ozone I too have heard of negative situations of bartercard IMO this network is for non business, for the average joe (& mary) who uses their hobby, interest , home enterprise skills to barter with to get things that they are after..->IMO<--

Scottie841 Yes this concept is , as you say all around the world.. LETS ( Local exchange trading system )( I think the "S" is for system )

regarding the questions / comments this is from the NZCE administator ( New Zealand Community Exchange) re the Tax man. If people are in business then trades in the line of their business are taxable and if they are registered for GST then that applies. if they do a trade that is not a part of their normal business then it is classified by the IRD as a hobby and is not taxable. An illustration is as follows:- If a plumber fixes a leaky tap it is taxable, however if a plumber does a flower arrangement for someone, it is considered a hobby and is not taxable. I hope this will satisfy every ones concerns.

Hi all I used to be a member Of PLains Exchange Barter Society, many years ago ( now disbanded ) Though bartering has been around for a many a centuries ( such as I'll give you wheelbarrow of vegies for you to make me 5 chocolate cakes ) the modern concept is through joining a network like this the alternative form of currency as called talents(1 talent = $1.oo ) eg there are 3 members Mary John Bob Mary asks bob to mow her lawn Bob says yes - it will cost you 15 talents ( $T15.00 ) + $5.00 for petrol Bob does the job and is given $5.00 for petrol Bob via the website withdraws the $T15.00 ( minus the 4% levy that goies to administration) out of Marys account JOhn advertises on the member list that his skill is gardening at $T15.00 an hour Bob contacts john to do an hour of gardening JOhn does the gardening John withdraws out of Bobs account the $T15.00 Apart from the $5.00 cash that mary had to spend for petrol ( as Bob cant buy petrol with talents ) No money changed hands other things that are great no money to join members get items, services & skills done & apart from stuff like petrol like the example of bob and mary There is a $T500.00 debit system..so you can start spending before you earn A great concept PM me if you want me to send you more info on this

Hi all some questions A) how old does the fry have to be before you can sex them? B) Approx at what age of the male fry does its colour in the back fin appear? Thanks
-
The reason why I put the new breeding trap in the nursery tank is that the slots on the bottom of the breeding trap the fry was getting through when I had it in the community tank. To me guppies are the great tropical fish especially as a beginner
-
Hi Guppygal & Welcome I too have a great interest in guppies but dont have any fancies I have a 2 tropical tank set up - one small one as a nursery that has my new double breeding trap ( with own filtering system ) and the community tank with 1 Bristlenose, 1 Angel fish, 2 Danios, 1 female platy,1 sunset platy, around 6 female guppies , 3 male guppies Over the last fortnight got 42 guppy fry from 3 "mums" Just a suggestion...via user control panel ( I think ) state what part of Nz are you from.

:bounce: My wife is sooooo happy ( she now calls herself a guppy nana ) I had the female guppy in a breeding floating tank - and last night found 8 fry in the bottom layer ( under the V plate ). Shall I leave "mum" in this breeding tank for a few days in case she drops more? How long should I keep the fry in this breeding tank .how many days / weeks before I can put the fry in the community tank so that they are old/big enough to not look like food food? Thanks for the hints and suggestions

what would stop my female livebearers "drop" their fry?
aquadude replied to aquadude's topic in Livebearers
the pregant platy is still very big plus I looked in the filter sponge..nothing seems to be sucked up the guppy tank very heavily floting planted so i wouldve thought with the amount of pregant guppies some fry wouldve survived -

Hi all I have a pregant platy that I scored over a month ago, in a seperate tank with heaps of floating plants, with a sunset male platy...this "nursery tank is an aquaone tank approx 15ltrs I do a 30% water change every 2 weeks The Tank Temperature is 25-26. This Tank has a HOB filter The sunset male is "dancing" around with the female ............................. I have around 6 pregant female guppys that I scored over 2 months ago, that I have in a heavily floating planted community tank. I do a 30% water change every 2 weeks The Tank Temperature is 25-26. This Tank has a under gravel filter Not one sight of any fry at all... what , by the above description are we doing wrong

Hi all My role is being a community support worker doing personal care & housework as employment Many of my clients get medipacks ( if you dont know what a medipack is...its a blister pack that holds individaul doses of tablets that the person has say, Monday to sunday Break - lunch - Tea - Bed. There is two styles...one style to tear off the individual blister to get that tablet..the other style is ideal for freezing fish food in as the pack ( non tearable )has a hinged lid and the size is perfect for popping out a block to put in the tank ( this pack holds 28 cavities ) I estimate cavity size to be like of a size of a dice. Ask family and friends if their medication is in medipacks - and what style.. hope this helps with storage / freezing solution
