  1. I have coastal dragons which I have running free inside an unheated glasshouse with water dragons and reeves turtles year round. I handled them from a young age and regularly hand feed so now they come meet me at feed time. Coastals are easy to handle but the waterdragons are very quick and less keen to be handled, but the female waterdragon is quite happy to climb my leg (not so good in shorts) looking for food.

I do not keep inland dragons but I do not think they are suitable for out side.

  2. Good to see. Someone bought up in another post on this site something you may have looked into, and that is the importing of sperm. There was no real response to that, I don't know if you have an answer to that? At the moment I have other priorities otherwise I would be interested in one of the River cooter turtles.

  3. I was thinking about a Copperband for my tank because I have plenty of aiptasia and have given up trying to kill it. But after a bit of research have decided against it for now. The copperbands also has a taste for other types of soft corals which I have or hope to get in the future.

  4. I had a jeweled rock hopper fish in my 150 ltr tank. It did well controling algae on the rocks though it was not very keen on the hairy algae. Unfortunately my tank did not produce enough algae to keep it going and it would only take flake food reluctantly so I swapped it for what I think is called a gold headed gobi, anyway it has a white body yellow head with a blue stripe like indian war paint. It doesnt take the algae off the rocks much but constantly sieves the sand which keeps it clean though you get a bit of debri floating around untill the finest stuff gets filtered out, and it drags the coral sand out from under the rocks and makes mounds but that is easy enough to deal with.

  5. Blenny shape as said but looked like glass. Smaller one you could see some of the internals but bigger ones almost completely clear.

Will have to wait till summer to have another look.

  6. Has any one seen or know of native marine fish (looks more like a blenny than a goby) that is see-through like glass? They seem to get more see- through as they get bigger. And does anyone know what it is called? I have found them in Gisborne.

  7. Have been running a 90lt marine tank with a canister filled with live rock for a year now. The intake on the canister is connected to a ventura style skimmer. I have 5 fish in the tank as well as shrimps and hermit crabs. I also have some soft corals which have grown so well that I dont know what to do with it all. I clean out the canister filter about every 3-4 months, the only hassle being not losing baby starfish and pods down the sink.
