pretty sure my fish has dropsy-it is puffy and slight signs of fins sticking out, but also has white stuff round its mouth, so gave it everything I had!
Is it ok to treat water with both melafix and White Spot Cure for things like Ich. This treatment turns the water blue, but when i added it to water thyat had melafix in it after asbout three hours the water was no longer blue.
My lovely red fighting fish is lookingvery sad. Sure he is going to die. Suspect dropay but there is also white round his mouth and between the stripes onhis body. Do the fish normally develop an 'S' bend in their spine?
This one has had this for sometime and it is quite marked. Normal or a disease?
except thatr he has been in this tank for 7 months already and no other fish has developed fin rot over that time, so I'm picking its probably not that.
he's in with neon tetras, emerald eyes, female swordtails, glowlight tetras, WCMM's. No sign of blood anywhere but he is red so could be a bit hard to see. I wondered about fiin rot but as he's been like this ever since I got him I thought he wouldn't survive that long.
I have a Siamewse fighting fish whose finnage is shortening and becoming more and more frayed. I haven't seen other fish nibbling at him, but if i isolate hom how long should it take for regrowth to benoticeable? Is there a non-terminal disease that would do this? I've had him since about June last year.
Thanks, it has been in the pond for nearly 6 weeks now.
According to the info you only need a small amount of straw. A bale does a huge pond. Anybody have any specific amounts?
Would it help if I did a big water change?
When it starts to work is it still a slow process or is it easy to see happening?
Is there anyone whji has actuallyhadexperience using barley straw to kepp a pond clean? I came across the principle of it, mamaged to locate a bale of the stuff and after 6 weeks absolutely nothing is happening.
some months ago my daughter gave me a Siamese fighter which she had in her tank for a litkte while and said that her fish had nibbled its fins. It has never grown any length to its fin or tail. Could it have fin rot, is that fatal or infectious?
so do you just put the barley straw anywhere in the pond and how often does it have to be changed?
What is the set up like with the stuff you buy in the bottle? I mean does the bottle go in open both ends so the water can flow through or just open one end?
And where can you get it from?
