  1. My heater went one night in the 4ft tank and i just added a new heater, left the fish in and let the water heat up again . All fish seem ok the CLs took a while to start swimming around but so far no problems. When i was swapping tanks one of the Cls hitched a ride on the log and got dunked staright into the tank, just as well he didnt fall off    I was planning a nice slow move !!!!!!

  2. Hey guys. This is my first attempt at a planted tank =D

Used corse play sand from Mitre 10 as the substrate. Added a rock and some wood as the hardscape, will hopefully grow some fern on this =D

  3. HFF usually look after members of this forum, get a price from them and see if anyone else can beat it.

Or decide who to give your dollar to based on who you feel best supports you as a fish keeper and the hobby in general, rather than shopping based solely on price....

That's a good point and a job for the hols .......

  4. I have bought a bigger tank for my Parrot and Clown loaches, its nice and big, 4ft x2ft x2ft and 10mm glass. My fish are currently in a 3 ft one so i am looking forward to a big move around during the next school holidays. Fingers crossed i think i have enough filters etc, but what the heck i may need to get a bigger one.... I will take some photos once i have got the tank in position at the moment its lurking in the hall way waiting to be cleaned. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

  5. Sadly [for you] the option of selling them is probably the best one, if you are not prepared to house them properly.

Clown Loaches are probably one of the most commonly mistreated fish in the hobby IMO, probably second only to goldfish in sheer numbers. How many of the thousands of 1"ers sold in shops every year end up in 6' tanks growing to 10-12" and living out their potentially long lives?

Clown Loaches are beautiful fish and deserve to have the right size tank. Buying even two more small CLs isn't the best option if you want to keep these fish and do them the justice they deserve.

  6. Yes i have to agree you have MTS, don't fight it there no point, your hubby, like mine will be OK,as you say there are far worse vices........I would have to say go BIGGER ..... Greg makes awesome tanks and they are very well priced..... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
