  2. Well it is that time of year again and we are due for our capitations. These capitations help pay for the BFRC to keep going and also you pay a capitation fee of $10 to the FNZAS which entitles you to their membership cards which can be used at various Pet shops to receive a discount, also you are a financial member of the FNZAS which gets you their magazines up to three times a year. This magazine is sent out digitally but if you want to get it in the mail then you will have to pay a small fee.

    Please fill out a membership from with your details so we keep them up to date and you can either pay for the membership through internet banking or can pay at a meeting. If paying through internet banking, then please remember to put your name as a reference so we know who has paid.

We have David Cooper who is the Special Projects Manager/Aquatics Tutor from Mahurangi Technical Institute coming to talk to us and show a presentation of the long history of NZ Aquarium Industry. He spent several weeks over in the Uk last year on a study tour of the aquarium qualifications system. He would like to share the love around the hobby and industry and he has already done this ti the industry and animal welfare sectors and not so much to the aquarium hobby.

  5. Hi all the next meeting is the 23rd February at 30a Windsor Road, Bellevue at 7.30pm. We have alot to discuss the upcoming FNZAS conference and what we are going to be doing this year as a club and how to encourage more people to join and keep the fish hobby going. Hope to see you all then.

  6. I have the Garmin Nuvi 50 and it is great I use it in both Auckland and Wellington and it came with lifetime map updates. I wouldn't have gotten around Auckland or Wellington without it. Also we do use the Smart phone if forgot the GPS. It is better to get one with lifetime updates of maps or else you have to pay to update.
