  1. Hey guys,

I have a few plants from my tank to send off and I was wondering if anyone knew the best method of sending them? I was thinking overnight courier with them in a ice-cream container or something? Do they need to be fully submerged in water when sending? Do they need any kind of heat source when sending in this weather? Who is the best company to go with and do anyone know roughly how much it would cost?

    Cheers :)

  2. Thanks everyone for the comments- it sounds like diving isn't compulsory so I think I will do the papers and see from there :) Lol I was hoping to go to PhD level so its good to hear that you can use that to your advantage :)

Submarines aren't a bad idea

Don't really know how deep "deep underwater" means, I presuming much more than 20m???

Yeah it is a bit of a bummer but not being able to dive is a very small price to pay to have a second chance of life though which is what I am really grateful for :P :bounce:

Yay it all sounds like good news! Thanks so much everyone :D

  3. I went to see my neurosurgeon the other day to ask if I am ever allowed to dive. He said there is no way that I am allowed to because I had a brain tumour when I was younger and so my brain couldn't stand the pressure of being deep underwater :( This was not the news I wanted to hear because I was planning on doing a course at uni next year with most papers heading towards a job in marine biology. Is diving essential for getting a job in marine biology and if so are there any similar alternatives that I could consider for a job? :-?

Because of my passion for animals I would prefer to get a career in that sort of field rather than medicine etc- hopefully something will be out there :)

    Any advice would be great!

    Thanks

    :D

  4. Lol i'm dreading english and don't want to study it either

    Have you red this article?

If a couple of NCEA exams seemed extra tricky this year it may not have been due to a lack of study -- errors have been picked up in two at level 3.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority said the calculus exam sat on Tuesday had a set of brackets missing on a formula sheet while a biology exam on Monday wrongly labelled a graph depicting movement of larvae in relation to high tide times.

Deputy chief executive, qualifications Bali Haque said the papers were checked multiple times but errors still managed to slip through occasionally.

"We want to be clear that where an error occurs in an exam paper, candidates will not be disadvantaged."

Answers given with or without taking brackets into account would be marked correct in the calculus exam and the biology graph -- while potentially confusing -- was not expected to have "a significant impact" on students' answers.

That answers why I found the animal paper hard

I wonder what they are going to do. I think a few questions were based on that graph
