Skimming

Why would you want to ? Im sure with the heaps of cash Deltec have invested in R&D they know what the optimum for their products is. Just stick to what the machine is made for and you will LOVE the results.

stick with the recommended, there is a correct amount of time the bubbles need to be in contact with the water, increasing flow will decrease the contact time so it wont work as well.

I am sure they would have done a heap of testing.

However you may find that if you do put a bit more water thru the preformance may only drop a little bit. maybe less than 5% (guess) but you may take out stuff you wouldn't have if you had used the 1000ltr rec by deltec. goes both ways though.

Also something to think about is say if you were to drop the amount of water going thru by say half, This would mean you would get a better dwell time - thus in theory producing a better quality load of crap... would it not?

How about this, not true numbers though.

500ltr dark dark dark crud but not much collected

1000ltr (rec by deltec) dark dark crud and a good amount collected

1500ltr dark crud and a large amount collected.

I spose the answer the the question is to have 2 skimmers. :D

as i understand it (and could be wrong) it isn't the volume of crud collected that the contact time changes but what type of proteins, some take longer to 'attach' to the surface of the bubble. so if you run too much water some protiens don't have time to get skimmed, if you run it too slow you don't process as much water as you could be.
