Mixed frys in same tank"

Featured Replies

i had a batch of frys each from Severum and Jack Dempsey..

was think of raising for feeder :dead%fish

i mixed both batch into 1 tank..it seem that the Severum are more dominate over the Jd..the Jd number are decreasing..

any1 try experiment mixing frys..?

I regularly mix fry from my africans and grow them out together.. You just have to make sure you don't mix fish that look the same so you can tell them apart again. I also have to match aggression/growth rate/size and it is always the way that one type doesn't do as well as the other.

One type is always going to do better in the environment you put them in, do better on your food or be naturally more dominant than the other..

hey Ryanjury i got some other problem with other fry..

small frys stop eating and have shrink their stomach? what the remedy for the kind of symtoms

Hard to tell could be some sort of worm or if they are in with bigger fish they could be being beaten up/not getting a chance to get any food so starving.

I follow same rules as Ryan

I feed a mix of foods

some float some sink flake pellet live dead

this way all diest are catered for and reduces the competition somewhat
