akukny88
Did anyone try the recipe from Rocky Mountain Discus? http://www.rockymountaindiscus.com/Disc ... recipe.htm comments?
suphew
I loooked into make my own discus food a few years ago, what I found is that commercial frozen foods have added vitamins that are difficult to get hold of. Since it is diffficult (if not impossible) to make up your own food based on what they would be normally eat in the wild I was worried that a vitamin or mineral would be missing. Also because I only had a small number of discus (3) I just didn't think it was worth the hassle.
Luke*
I make my own discus food. Topic of our next club meeting is homemade food. Makes me want to make it even more reading that article, nice one. The discus certainly adore it and it pumps them up really good as it's so filling and has my secret blend of herbs and spices in it too I made a heap at a time in the food processor then pour it into freezer baggies. I made lines in it then freeze. Then once frozen I can break it up into big chunks for thawing and feeding later.
