Temp fluctuations

I have an interesting question.

Has there, or is there any studies done on whether stable temperatures over a 24 hour period is beneficial to reef tanks?

Or, is a 2 degree swing normal in the wild?

Any info would be good. Any threads out there?

I would guess that it depend on the coral, I dont thing temp changes much in deeper water, but in shallow water or lagoons it might change more. Then again there are different temp levels in deep water too, you can feel them when your diving.
