GeeTee
Is there any disadvantage putting two lots of fry together that will be 1 week in age difference?
Faran
The possibility that the size difference may be so great that the larger fry start eating the smaller fry. This can happen even in the same batch of fry, so not a big concern. Otherwise, no, we do it all the time. Even mix species as long as the water parameters are similar and keeping in mind the size thing.
GeeTee
These are the same species so hopfully should be ok. It is surprising what they will eat at this age,I dropped a few bloodworms in and they handled them without a worry. (They are Flamebacks, been out of the mouth for 1 week,3 weeks since egg). herefishiefishie
You can also use crushed flake, baby brine shrimp, cyclops..the last 2 come as frozen too. Not a fan of blood worms myself, but thats another story. You should be fine, but as stated all depends on the sizes. Remember that if it can fit in its mouth....especially growing fry. GeeTee
The blood worm was only a trial as I was feeding the other tank at the time. I can get my hands on bbs straight away but I think it wouldn't be long before they would be to big for it.Maybe. They are taking crushed flake easy enough, they won't go hungry. herefishiefishie
Cichlids are the masters of looking hungry. They are nothing more than garbage disposal units. Frenchy
