Siamese Algae Eaters/Black line Flying Foxes??

I asked at the LFS if they had Siamese Algae Eaters and they said that they were called Black Line Flying Foxes. I can't find them called that in my books or on the net called that at all. Does anyone know if that is in fact correct? I've read that the SAE are often confused with other types of Flying Foxes.

Hmmm...I have a terrible memory...but, Jude, is it the Chinese Algae Eaters that are aggressive? I just gave a fast read through the link you posted and the SAE are not know to be, so I was wondering if it is the Chinese ones that are?

Caper - you got it! Chinese are agressive, Siamese are not. False Siamese are solitary, true Siamese are social (enjoy others of the same species).

I have one Siamese Algae Eater in my 460L tank that I can't get out for the life of me, though his 4 similar tankmates all fell for the same capture technique. Cheeky little bugger sits there and watches me until I go for the nets, then disappears for the day.

:bounce: I'll get you someday!!!! :bounce:

Thanks BlueandKim :bow::bow:

I get the 2 mixed up...and I really do have a terrible memory sometimes :-?

Sorry, but I think your fishy are going to win :lol: :lol:

It's like the first time my sister saw my cat just sitting and staring :o at the door, she wanted to know what he was doing this for...I told her "he rarely, rarely meows to get out". Her laughing response was "stupid cat". I told her oh no, he is not stupid...he just sits there and stares knowing full well that if I don't open the door, he'll get my attention by grapping the curtains!

So, you just might be out smarted by your fishy :lol: :lol: :lol:
