MarkLB
Hi all, I friend has found some odd little critters in his comm tank. They are about 5 to 10mm long and only 2 or 3 mm around and look sorta like a slug but more like a leech. Has anyone any ideas what they are?? Cheers, Mark
suphew
leeches aren't uncommon esp if you friend has been collecting plants or wood from lakes or streams. the only way to know for sure is posting a picture.
Raul
You can kind of tell by the way they move. Leeches have a sucker at each end of their body and reach out with one, stick on and then pull themselves up to it before reaching out again (kind of like one of those loopy caterpillars). If it's a flatworm they just kind of glide along like a slug. I think flatworms may also have a couple of eye spots.
