TM
Posted this on Reefcentral a few days ago, but Habib has not got back to me. No major drama, just wondering why its happening. I have a calcium kit that gives me a result of 410. When i use the strontium kit it says my calcium is at 320 (about) I have repeated the test 5 times and get the same results. I know it is hard to test for strontium but would you not think the calcium would be the same in both tests. Why is there such a difference? Am i doing something wrong? Is the test old, exp date is all good. Habib (reefcentral Did you add the 1 full syringe of Sr-3 before starting with the second syringe? If so then the batch numbers of the Sr-3 and Ca-3 (from the reagent's labels) would be helpful. Yes i did. Batch Numbers STR (pc1710) CA (ac08980e)
wasp
This came up a little while ago, and I've seen it on RC before too, it seems it is quite common for them to vary, although yours give a BIG difference, not acceptable one of them is obviously faulty. Probably the only thing you can do is ask another reefer or two, or your lfs, to test your water so you know which kit is correct.
cracker
My kits always read the same. (STR and Ca) Double check you are doing it right.
